Using & Maintaining Your Ninth Flame Lighter
Ninth Flame lighters are crafted with precision and built to last. To ensure your lighter stays in top condition, follow the guides below — tailored for each type: butane, wick, and electric.
🔷 Butane Lighters
(Jet lighters, Torch-style, Flip-top)
How to Refill:
• Hold the lighter upside down
• Use only high-quality butane (3X refined or more)
• Insert the nozzle firmly into the refill valve for 2–3 seconds
• Repeat once if needed
• Wait 2–3 minutes before using
Adjusting the Flame:
• Find the adjustment dial near the refill valve
• Turn + to increase, – to decrease
• Adjust slowly — small turns make a big difference
Troubleshooting:
• Sparking but not igniting – Purge air and refill
• Butane spraying out – Check nozzle fit and seal
• Flame flickering or too low – Increase flame height
• Lighter spitting gas – Let it warm up longer after refill
Maintenance:
• Purge excess air regularly
• Use a small brush to clean the nozzle area
• Never overfill or expose to heat
🔶 Wick Lighters
(Classic flip-top styles like Constantine, trench)
How to Refill:
• Remove the insert
• Use naphtha-based fluid only (e.g., Zippo)
• Drip fluid into cotton until moist (don’t overfill)
• Wait 1–2 minutes before using
Replacing the Wick:
• Remove old wick with tweezers
• Thread a new wick through the chimney
• Repack the cotton around it
• Trim wick tip to ~6mm length
Replacing the Flint:
• Unscrew the flint cap
• Remove spring and debris
• Insert new flint, then replace spring and cap
Troubleshooting:
• Weak flame – Add more fluid or pull up the wick slightly
• Leaks – Avoid overfilling or misthreading the cap
Maintenance:
• Trim burnt wick regularly
• Clean ignition wheel and chimney with a dry brush
⚡ Electric Lighters
(Plasma arc or coil ignition)
How to Use:
• Charge via USB (full charge ~1–2 hours)
• Slide or press power switch to activate
• Touch object to arc or coil to light
Troubleshooting:
• Not turning on – Recharge fully
• Not charging – Try a different USB cable or clean the port
Maintenance:
• Keep away from water and direct heat
• Clean arc points or coil using a cotton swab
• Store at room temperature
